The Challenge

Adventurer Jim Greer and his crew of three will traverse the waterways of what is commonly known as “The Great Loop.” This water route passes through Lake Okeechobee Waterway, Atlantic Intracoastal Waterway, Hudson River, Historical Erie Canal, The Great Lakes, the rivers of Illinois, Mississippi, Ohio, and Tennessee, and finally the Gulf Coast Intracoastal Waterway, bringing us back to our starting point. The rivers and their offshoots will be explored and captured in beautiful HD video, giving the audience a view of the river they would never see from their cars.

The audience will be drawn to the history and beauty of the waterways, as well as to the diverse personalities found along the way – the crews of the yachts we meet, commercial boaters, fishermen making a living off the river, and all walks of life in between.

Whats Unique:

  • The solar-powered boat, the first to traverse The Great Loop.
  • The rare opportunity to see major cities and historical sites from the water.
  • A close-up look at the birds and animals that make the rivers their home.
  • A view of life on the river as told by the people we meet.
  • Engaging, site-specific information provided at regular intervals by our in-house historians.
  • A six-month river trip with up to three seasons of ongoing episodes.
